      Job Title: Regulatory Strategist
      Contract Duration: 3+ Months
      Pay range: $75 - 80/hr
      Location: Oakland, CA
      Work Type: Remote. Part-time, 20hrs a week

      Department Overview:
      The Wildfire Risk Organization is responsible for assisting the company to act decisively and transparently to prevent fires of consequence from being caused by our equipment.
      The organization will develop objectives to
      • Prevent fires of consequence originating from our equipment;
      • Meet all commitments outlined in our Wildfire Mitigation Plan;
      • Continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and
      • Develop consistent processes and work standards through the implementation of the Lean Operating System for sustainable operations.

      Position Summary:
      • The Expert, Wildfire Regulatory Strategy, plays a critical role in supporting key Regulatory filings including RAMP, General Rate Case (GRC), and Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP).
      • The Expert will be responsible for helping the wildfire Risk organization align and coordinate across Investment Planning, Regulatory, Business Finance and other teams to ensure the Wildfire-related work and costs are properly captured in various regulatory proceedings.
      • Working as part of a highly motivated and impactful team, the successful candidate will help the Wildfire Risk organization attain its goals by leveraging exceptional communication, analytical and strategic skills, while applying the highest work ethic, and has energy and passion for risk-informed, data-driven decision making, collaboration and continuous improvement.

      Job Responsibilities:
      • The Regulatory Strategist works closely with the Wildfire Risk organization's leadership, Regulatory team, Investment Planning, and Business Finance teams on the development of various regulatory filings with significant financial impact and high visibility
      • Ensure Wildfire strategy is properly and consistently reflected in various regulatory proceedings
      • Review and assist subject matter experts with the development of testimony, work papers, and discovery responses related to Wildfire Risk work, settlement documents, and communications materials; anticipate and understand the impact and proactively address issues
      • Build working relationships across the CA Utilities to collaborate on common regulatory approaches and strategies
      • Develop a solid understanding of Wildfire Risk Modelling, Situational Awareness, Operational Mitigations, and long-term mitigations such as Undergrounding and System Hardening to influence the development of Regulatory content
      • Develop and present summary presentations for senior management
      • Track and report relevant metrics, KPIs, and reports

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
      • Job-related experience, 6 years

      Desired Qualifications:
      • Master's Degree or equivalent experience
      • Advanced communication and presentation skills to deliver complex data and findings to Sr. Management
      • Experience with regulatory processes
      • Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships across organizations
      • Analytical and creative problem-solving, strategic decision-making ability
      • Broad knowledge of project management, process improvement best practices, concepts, methods, and techniques
      • Familiar with the Utility industry
      • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills

      Note:
      • Candidates with California is preferred. If the chosen candidate is out of California, the Laptop and any additional equipment will be provided.
      • Assignment is majority remote and might have a small chance of travel to the Oakland or San Ramon if needed.
      • Might need the personal phone as needed but expect to take most calls via MS Teams.
      • Our client will approve a pre-determined amount to expense internet monthly. If there is a need to travel with our client's prior approval may expense mileage and travel expenses per policy.
