      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Assign and sequence diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient and outpatient encounters using encoder software
      - Review and validate accuracy of Admission-Discharge-Transfer (ADT) data fields and coding work queues
      - Collaborate with Leadership to clarify incomplete or ambiguous documentation
      - Follow charge verification processes and address coding edits and needed corrections
      - Maintain adherence to Health Information Management (HIM) Coding policies and guidelines

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Valid coding certification (e.g., RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CPC-H)
      - Minimum of 5 years of coding experience in an acute care hospital
      - Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Disease Pathology, and Medical Terminology
      - Proficient in translating written diagnostic and procedure descriptions into appropriate coding
      - Computer literate in a Windows environment with basic MS Office skills

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - BS or AS degree in Health Information Management Administration or Health Information Technician from an accredited program
      - Experience in a Level 1 Academic medical center
      - Familiarity with various payment schemes for inpatient and outpatient encounters
