What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process requests for information from patient health records while ensuring compliance with state and federal privacy regulations
- Review and select medical record information according to patient or legal representative requests
- Maintain a computer log of requests and current status using medical information release software
- Act as a liaison with internal and external customers regarding government regulations and disclosure policies
- Prepare encrypted compact disks for patients or third parties as required

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft programs and electronic health record systems
- Ability to organize and manage multiple requests efficiently

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Familiarity with legal requests such as subpoenas and court orders
- Knowledge of medical terminology and concepts
- Strong mathematics skills for processing requests
