      JOB SUMMARY

      We are seeking a Reliability Engineering Co-Op student to join our growing Reliability team based out of our Red Deer facility. The role of the Reliability Engineering Co-Op is to identify and manage risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations.       JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Responsible for collecting lubricant samples, inspecting and supporting good lubrication practices, verifying equipment condition and utilization inline with ISO standards
      • Carryout condition monitoring inspections using sense, vibration analysis, infra-red imaging and ultra sonic devices to detects defects that could impact asset availability.
      • Assist in carrying out root cause analysis (RCA) to determine and develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
      • Support implementation and monitoring of Asset using predictive maintenance technologies (thermography, ultrasonic, vibration, Oil analysis)
      • Assist in conducting failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and their impact on reliability.
      • Check CBM data results to identify and report all credible damage mechanisms that may afflict plant equipmnent in order to help with inspections, fabrication, repairs and operations of equipment.
      • Assist with PM optimization and development of Asset Strategy Development (ASD)
      • Regularly review all equipment failures using data analysis to determine what preventative maintenance action might have been taken to prevent failure in order to protect against reoccurrence
      • Identify potential for cost reduction through extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other material-related improvement techniques
      • Participate in review phase, of design, of capital additions and changes in plant layout to ensure full maintainability of equipment, utilities, and facilities
      • Participate in approval of all new installations, including those done by contractors, to ensure their maintainability and reliability follows life cycle costing methods
      • Carryout Air leak survey, identify and recommend repairs.

      EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

      • Currently pursuing a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field. However significant practical experience will be considered.
      • One year experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required
      • Familiarity with predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, thermos-imaging, ultrasound, etc.
      • Good problem solving and analytical skills
      • Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Projects and PowerPoint
      • Proven teamwork, demonstrated written and oral communication skills
      • Highly organized with an attention to detail in the administration of projects
      • Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for improving equipment reliability
