      Job Title: Remote Medical Interviewer

      Job Description

      This is a temporary position for the Application Assistant department to help with scheduling interviews with applicants and conducting the interviews. This role has the potential to become permanent based on performance.

      Responsibilities

      • Conduct professional, courteous, and articulate interviews and follow-up calls with the proposed insured(s), building a positive rapport to obtain all pertinent personal and medical information to meet or exceed standards.
      • Review documents, notes, and correspondence for additional/anecdotal information.
      • Accurately enter data related to the application into the Application Interview System (AIS) and Assistant Underwriting System (AURA) to document case activity and any other relevant information to ensure accurate processing and approval of all life insurance policy contracts.
      • Provide accurate, prompt, and professional service to all inquiries received by phone or in writing while maintaining departmental standards and time service standards.
      • Correspond effectively, using proper grammar and spelling, within the department, underwriting staff, vendors, and other departments to assist in resolving problems, expedite business, and/or escalate for further handling.
      • Effectively communicate Application Assistant policies, procedures, and guidelines to internal and external customers.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • 3+ years of Customer Service experience (Call Center preferred)
      • Solid medical vocabulary and comfort with medical terminology
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Computer savvy with the ability to work remotely

      Work Environment

      Work hours are Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM. Initial training is fully remote for the first week, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a backup training time of 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM if needed. Candidates must be local in case onsite meetings are required periodically. The role requires a private office space and a wired internet connection. The position is part of a team of 7-10 Case Managers in a large office environment with 400+ employees.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
