What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD, CPT, and HCPCS
- Perform quality checks on entered data and correct errors prior to submission
- Collaborate with the education team to enhance documentation practices among clinicians
- Uphold confidentiality and compliance with all policies and standards

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 4-6 years of experience in diagnostic and procedure coding and/or medical billing in physician offices or clinics
- Certification as a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), CCS-Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology and documentation guidelines

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- 1 year of coding certification in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Familiarity with practice management software and electronic medical records systems
- Ability to effectively communicate issues related to coding and documentation to providers
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
