What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of coding systems (CPT, ICD, HCPCS) and ensure compliance with regulations
- Perform edit checks on data and resolve coding-related issues prior to transmission
- Collaborate with the education team to enhance documentation practices among providers
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to compliance policies

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 4-6 years of experience in physician offices or clinics with diagnostic and procedure coding and/or medical billing
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding
- Certification such as CPC, CCS, or RHIT required
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology and documentation guidelines

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate Degree in Health Information Management or a related field
- 1 year of coding certification in Health Information Management or a related field
- Experience interacting with providers and staff in a healthcare setting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records software and practice management systems
