What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide high-quality research administrative services to principal investigators (PIs) and manage multi-PI projects with complex budgets
- Prepare, analyze, monitor, and manage grant budgets, ensuring appropriate and timely expenditures
- Serve as a liaison between faculty, staff, and granting agencies, communicating policies and procedures
- Oversee payroll function and purchasing activities related to research projects
- Conduct fund searches and assist PIs with obtaining potential grant applications and instructions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Grants Administration
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with grant proposals from federal agency sponsors such as the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- Familiarity with Washington University's Research Management System (RMS) and SUBS
- Master's degree or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification
- Proficiency in federal agency systems, including Grants.gov Workspace and Research.gov
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
