What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Field, assess, and investigate prospects to support faculty projects, university needs, and development officer inquiries
- Conduct thorough research on prospects and donors using various sources, including internal resources and paid databases
- Provide tailored research and information to assist in prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Develop strategies to create and sustain a dynamic prospect pool through data mining and innovative methods
- Collaborate closely with development staff to stay informed about fundraising initiatives and adjust prospecting efforts accordingly

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Clear understanding of development and major gifts fundraising
- Advanced research skills, including knowledge of online reference and information systems, data screening products, and analysis of financial data
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and evaluate complex information from multiple sources
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural competency and attention to detail
- Excellent judgment, prioritization abilities, and meeting deadlines

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2+ years of experience in a development research office or related field, preferably in healthcare, higher education, or non-profit environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or Salesforce Affinaquest
- Experience with prospect research resources such as DonorSearch, Relationship Science, Lexis-Nexis, Candid, and Blackbaud Giving
