Job Description

- Compile, clean and prepare data from various sources for analysis and reporting;
- Conduct surveys and focus groups of students and staff;
- Collect, prepare and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data for the purposes of evaluating academic outcomes, and overall effectiveness of college initiatives;
- Work collaboratively within the department as well as across divisions to develop and generate reports, identify data anomalies, and streamline/support operational and research functions;
- Create dashboards and other data visualizations using Tableau;
- Prepare presentations and reports for campus and external community members;
- Exercise sound judgement especially when handling confidential and sensitive information;
- Perform complex tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced work environment; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Support MassBay's commitment to the Equity Agenda; collaborating with faculty, staff, and students on the College's strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes;

- Engage in conversations with colleagues and students regarding best practices within the discipline or programmatic related to equity and inclusion.
- Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral sciences, data analytics, statistics, or related field;
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a research environment analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
- Knowledge of research and assessment principles in higher education;
- Experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods of data analysis;
- Ability to synthesize, summarize, interpret, and report data;
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of applications, especially Excel;
- Experience with Tableau;
- Experience with web-based survey design;
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with data;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and to be flexible as priorities change;
- Attention to detail.
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
- Experience working in a diverse environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
- Experience in Institutional Research at a community college;
- Experience writing queries to extract data from databases.

Position Summary:
The idealcandidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have adesire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, non-unit position withno benefits. MassBay Community Collegeseeks a Research Analyst with strong skills in data analysis, visualization,and presentation to join the Office of Institutional Effectiveness toassist the College in institutionalizing data-informed decision making andpromote institutional effectiveness. The Research Analyst will supportthe College's efforts in reporting data to internal stakeholders and externalorganizations. This is a mostly remote position, but must be able to travel tocampus as needed.
