Job Description

- Obtain medical records from external providers, according to PI or study coordinator instructions.
- Obtain provider signatures on study-related documents as directed by the PI or study coordinator, and hand off appropriately and timely.
- Assist with preparation of subject-specific lab kits; maintain kit inventory.
- Deliver patient specimens and associated laboratory requisitions as directed by the PI or study coordinator.
- Maintain study regulatory binders with updated CVs, medical licenses, laboratory certifications, IRB and sponsor correspondence.
- Organize and maintain office supplies.
- Schedule work space and pharmacy time for monitor visits and request medical record access.
- Schedule meetings, take minutes and distribute agendas as instructed.
- Under direction of the PI or study coordinator, set-up and maintain filing systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including archiving records of closed studies and maintaining shared drive files.
- Requires High School/GED and six months of office experience or relevant experience OR equivalent education/experience.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite, and experience working with databases.
- One year of experience in a medical setting or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

The Research Assistant will provide general assistance and support to the Clinical Transplant Research team in carrying out administrative and research activities. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator or Research Manager in performing work assignments. The position will work directly with hospital, clinic and research staff in the support of observational and interventional Phase I-II clinical trials for hematopoietic cell transplantation with a focus on graft versus host disease. Interacts with patients, physicians, and other clinical providers and support staff within and outside of the Fred Hutch/UW cancer consortium including the Transplant Service.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.00 to $25.45, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
