- Conduct wet lab research, including bench work and preclinical imaging experiments, with responsibilities spanning planning, execution, and data reporting.
- Design and implementing rodent model of TBI for the diagnosis and longitudinal monitoring the structural injury and metabolic disorders.
- Assist in lab management, conduct various research projects and contribute to new research development in the lab.
- Critically review and present published research articles.
- Prepare progress reports, presentations, and attend project meetings as required.
- Edit abstracts and papers intended for publication.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including healthcare professionals, data scientists, and computer scientists.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights related to TBI.
- The above duties provide an overview of the principal functions of the job and do not encompass all possible assignments given by the director or inherent in the position.
- Supervise student interns or research assistants for conducting projects.
- Fulfill other assigned duties as required.
- Handle rats and mice for bench experiments, including establishing injury models, performing imaging procedures and behavioral tests, harvesting and sectioning tissues, and performing immunohistochemistry and microscopy.
- Conduct animal experiments, including injury modeling, animal care, and behavioral testing.
- Ability to perform original imaging research, including planning, execution, and data analysis.
- Ability to write scientific reports, abstracts and papers intended for publication.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in biomedical research.
- Competence in both oral and written English and ability to articulate concisely and in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented interdisciplinary healthcare environment.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee research activities in the Molecular Imaging Laboratory. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting original research focused on developing imaging methods for preclinical models of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other neurological diseases. Key responsibilities include performing imaging experiments in rodent models, analyzing research data, and preparing research reports.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines and 1 year of direct experience in the field. Possesses excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and stellar communication skills.
