Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for histological analysis. Help operate and maintain histology equipment
Standard microscopy, confocal and scanner microscopy both Olympus and Ventana platform
Analyze and interpret histological data, documenting findings accurately
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize histological experiments
Assist in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications and present and discuss experimental data within the Translational Pharmacology Research Unit and across the broader Discovery organization
Manage interns and/or apprentices
Master degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Histotechnology, or a related field, desired experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in cancer research, > 2 years hands-on experience with tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining. Desired laboratory experience in the following areas: Microscopy Scanner Olympus or Ventana platforms, Akoya Vectra Polaris multiplex Scanner and Graph-Pad Prism software
Good knowledge of tissue quantification software like Definiens, Halo and VisioPharm.
Passion to explore novel technologies /continue to build state-of-the-art tools
Experience with advanced imaging techniques, digital pathology, and spatial biology techniques (desired)
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Interest on working in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment, within improvement within a matrix/collaborative environment

This position is located within our Translational Pharmacology Research Unit, part of the Roche Innovation Center Basel. In this role, you will join a highly motivated team devoted to cancer research and will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment and will profit from the interaction and close collaboration with other expert units, including the Research Pathology Core Technology Laboratory (Lab 360).
The Opportunity
As a Research Associate Histology, you will specialize in histology support to the preclinical in vivo experiments aimed at characterizing translationally relevant preclinical models and evaluating the activity of therapeutics.
