RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - VACCINE RESEARCH

OBJECTIVES:
- This is a bench-focused position. Responsible for the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments to develop Document experimental data in ELN and LIMS on time.
- Within Vaccine Research and Analytics (VRA) Team of Takeda Vaccine, the position supports the characterization of Critical Reagents for the development of our candidate vaccine
- Design and execute a monoclonal antibody characterization and discovery for all assigned projects or portion of a project.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses of experimental procedures, data, and conclusions.
- Effectively communicate results of experiments and analyses to supervisor and/or
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Independently design, execute and analyze scientific experiments.
- Perform procedures with only general instructions.
- Identify problems with experiments and implement solutions.
- Communicate results and research progress with the team and during departmental meetings - Prepare, write, analyze, and present technical data and reports
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to drive innovation
- Participate in monitoring and maintaining facility related aspects of the lab and lab equipment as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- BS in Biology, Molecular Biology or cognate discipline with 2 years industry experience OR
- MS in Biology, Molecular Biology or cognate discipline with 0 years industry experience
- Thorough understanding of immune chemical assay and protein analysis (SDS page, Western blotting, SPR, ELISA)
- Experience developing and running immune chemical assays (ELISA, Octet, Luminex, antibody epitope binning and MSD. etc.)
- Experience with monoclonal antibody prep and characterization (Expi 293 mAb expression, Purification by Protein G and A280nm by nanodrop and SDS-PAGE)
- Experience with monoclonal antibody discovery experiences (hybridoma, B cell sorting and phage display) be a plus
- Strong collaboration, team-working skills and communication skills Independently motivated and detail-oriented with good problem-solving ability
- Experience to designing, organizing and executing multiple complex experiments simultaneously
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation use and maintenance
Location and Salary Information:
Base Salary Range: $54,600 to $78,000 based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
This position is currently classified as “hybrid” in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy.”
