Respond to legal research requests using a suite of online legal research tools
Provide litigation monitoring and electronic current awareness services
Take ownership of research assignments from pick-up to completion
Collaborate with peers on assignments, projects, and workflows
Follow protocol for accurate billing of research time and department tasks
Value and uphold the capacity and professionalism of the team within the firm at-large
Monitor, assign and complete requests using Quest, our research request tracking system
Expertise with major legal research services, including Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, Lex Machina, CourtLink, Docket Alarm, CasePortal, etc.
Working knowledge of Quest, our research request tracking system
Familiarity with cite-checking and Bluebooking procedures
Ability to summarize and concisely deliver complex research results
Solid organizational, analytical and communication skills, with ability to multitask and re-prioritize as necessary to meet competing deadlines
Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited school
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm environment or other research-focused position
Substantive knowledge of the law and legal bibliography

Troutman Pepper, an AmLaw 50 firm with over 1,100 attorneys nationwide, is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and innovative Research Librarian to join our centralized Research Services Team. This position will provide ongoing research support to attorneys and staff across all firm practice groups and administrative departments. The position is full-time and offers a hybrid work option, with preference given to candidates in one of our West Coast offices – Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, or San Francisco.
