What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead and manage the evaluation of federal training and technical assistance projects, as well as other research and evaluation projects
- Oversee project budgets and ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables
- Collect primary data through conducting interviews, focus groups, or surveys and lead site visits
- Analyze primary and secondary data using intermediate and advanced statistical methods
- Write proposal sections and contribute to reports, journal articles, and presentations to clients and stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications):
- PhD in criminal justice, sociology, statistics, economics, or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.5
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in applied social science research, specifically related to victim service or criminal justice topics
- US citizenship required by federal government contract
- This position requires a Public Trust security clearance
- Demonstrated mastery and work experience related to statistical analyses and software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, and Stata)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing small to mid-sized projects (at least $100,000)
- Prior research experience with special populations, particularly in American Indian tribal communities
- Experience with advanced statistical techniques, such as social network analysis or cost-benefit analysis
- Superior technical writing skills with recent publication of research findings
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal staff and external clients
