IBM Research Europe (UK) is offering internships for MS and PhD students interested in experiencing the research environment at IBM Research.

During your internship, you can expect to work on challenging research problems as part of a diverse team in a leading worldwide industrial research organisation. Our lab focuses on using cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to advance scientific discovery processes in industries that have applications in urgent societal impact areas such as climate and sustainability, healthcare, and life science. We work in domains such as AI, Cloud, Quantum Computing, and advanced prototyping for discovery tasks. Our cross-disciplinary approach to research, coupled with the profound curiosity of our researchers and engineers, offers a unique opportunity to participate in scientific and industrial research as part of a world-class research organisation. Interns have authored papers, filed patents, contributed to open-source projects, and contributed to IBM products during their time with us.

Applicants should be enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral-level course and have a background in Physics, Life Sciences, or Quantum computing. Proficiency with AI/ML in these fields, and hands on experience with HPC systems will be an added qualification.
