What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct abundance surveys and spot mapping of Cerulean Warblers and other forest bird species
- Assist with banding and tagging of breeding birds as needed
- Perform data entry and vegetation sampling to support project goals
- Travel daily to various field sites throughout southeastern Ohio
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effective project execution
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in environmental research or related field
- Proficiency in identifying eastern forest birds by sight and sound
- Ability to travel daily to various field locations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in outdoor settings
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in environmental research or related fields
- Experience with field research methodologies and data collection techniques
- Familiarity with bird banding and tagging procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varying shifts
