      Job Description

      JOB SUMMARY

      This position is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the Charge Description Master (CDM) for facilities. Assists with reports and tasks directly related to the chargemaster. Provide general training and guidance CDM maintenance. May assists with special projects, as needed, relating to pricing, conversion, new CDM tools, and CDM reviews within the departments. May provide training and mentoring to new and established staff. Act as first line of support for staff questions.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Include the following. Others may be assigned.
      • Reviews and maintains all CDM maintenance activity including data entry. May coordinate with leaders/team to assist with special projects related to price increases, special requests from clients, system conversions, or implementation of new CDM tools. May include other duties and/or special projects not listed. Compile, download, and distribution of statistical CDM information.
      • Assists with reports and tasks directly related to the chargemaster as assigned.
      • Performs reconciliation of data input in order to ensure accuracy of CDM.
      • May assist in training and/or education related to new staff, department staff, and client after experience and competence has been documented.

      • Working knowledge of the principles, practices and tools relating to accounting, financial management, reimbursement, and general healthcare billing.
      • Ability to understand and effectively complete report creation, audit techniques, spreadsheet presentations.
      • Ability to convince others and persuade to timely action based on regulations, risk exposure level, compliance deficiencies and audit findings.
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
      • Working knowledge of the standards and regulatory requirements applicable to matters within designated scope of authority.
      • Working knowledge of medical terminology and health care nomenclature, systems, HIM coding and general billing/reimbursement practices.
      • Ability to convey technical information effectively in verbal and written communications, and in group/business presentations.
      • Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level of proficiency, including Excel.

      EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

      Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
      • Entry Level: Experience Preferred
      • High School graduate or equivalent required
      • College degree preferred
      • Applicable clinical or professional certifications and licenses such as LVN, RN, RT, MT, RPH, COC, CPC, CCS highly desirable

      Compensation and Benefit Information

      Compensation
      • Pay: $20.51-$30.77 per hour. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
      • Position may be eligible for a signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.
      • Conifer observed holidays receive time and a half.
