What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure accuracy of HCC codes within patient health information for members enrolled in risk-adjusted health care plans
- Conduct HCC coding on projects for ACA risk adjustment and RADV audits using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Collaborate closely with team members, physicians, and leadership to deliver high-quality coding and analytics
- Participate in assigned projects while working independently in various coding applications and electronic medical records systems
- Serve as a "Brand Ambassador" within the local community, representing the employer positively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) through a national credentialing organization such as AAPC or AHIMA
- Minimum of three years of experience in HCC coding and/or billing
- Strong understanding of CMS guidelines related to risk adjustment coding
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and coding applications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Five years of HCC coding and/or billing experience
- Familiarity with additional coding systems and healthcare regulations
- Experience in a collaborative healthcare environment
- Previous roles involving direct patient care or interactions
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
