- Conduct risk assessments and develop recommended risk mitigation plans in partnership with business units to address potential threats to the organization's objectives.
- Facilitate updates to risk registers, tolerances, mitigation strategies and dashboards related to enterprise risk management.
- Document and analyze business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify and document internal controls in business processes and analyze for any potential gaps in risk mitigation.
- Facilitate business continuity and disaster recovery planning in partnership with IT.
- Conduct internal control effectiveness and operational efficiency audits
- Collaborate with various departments to implement process improvement initiatives and monitor their progress and impact.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure the organization's internal control, process improvement, and risk management practices remain current and effective.
- Other special projects and assignments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in public accounting - auditing, internal audit or similar risk management role.
- Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships with business partners as a trusted advisor.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required.
- Experience in previous position that required strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
- Proven experience with high ethical standards and integrity.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting required
- Related certifications/licenses such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or willingness to obtain is required.
- Experience documenting business processes and internal controls strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred, information technology general controls, IT security controls, business continuity/disaster recovery, and/or enterprise risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, Visio experience preferred.

Pay Philosophy
The typical starting salary for this position is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, acquired skills, experience, education, and certifications/designations. This position may be eligible for annual merit increases and participation in our bonus program.

In this position you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, documenting and monitoring the effectiveness of internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency within the organization, and identifying areas for process improvement. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be located in Columbia, Missouri or with in travel distance.
