- Assist team in preparing and posting monthly risk decks that report key metrics requiring mitigation. Help team author and publish 2 critical risk reports that are reviewed monthly with the markets regarding the health of the divisions and specific market loan portfolios.
- Assist team in preparation for audits and various regulatory reviews. Assist with supervision of the non-pass portion of the assigned loan portfolios as needed.
- Partner with various Division Risk Managers, Senior Credit Officers, and Underwriting Managers on various projects and policy reviews. Help team coordinate risk appetite communication, portfolio strategy, and the escalation process.
- Help team review and approve downgrades on the non-pass portion of the portfolio, craft go-forward relationship strategies with the markets, and transfer deteriorating relationships to the workout teams when appropriate.
- Help identify emerging risks in the loan portfolio through diligent analysis, review of portfolio metrics and trends, scheduled portfolio reviews as assigned, as well as staying current with market conditions and economic cycles.
- Prepare ad hoc materials or reports for the Portfolio Manager Team Lead, various Division Risk Managers, as well as interact with other functional Risk partners such as Legal, Compliance, Controls, Underwriting, and Sales.
- Form strong working relationships with market leaders and their teams as well as all related risk teams.
- Minimum 2+ years of demonstrated achievement in risk management, financial or portfolio analysis or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact and form strong working relationships with all levels of the organization is required
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Sharepoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills - a highly motivated, confident, team player
- Ability to work independently & manage projects and deadlines
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Participation or completion of a formal credit underwriting training program or equivalent experience in underwriting, credit analysis, credit approval, or portfolio management.

As an Associate Portfolio Risk Manager at JPMorgan Chase, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Portfolio Risk Management team. Your role will involve managing the Business Bank and divisional loan portfolios using various metrics. You will ensure alignment on risk appetite and portfolio strategy, assist in managing the non-pass portfolio, and track portfolio trends. You will also be involved in risk policy reviews and identifying gaps in delivery. This role offers you the chance to use your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges and make a significant impact on our company, customers, and communities.
The successful candidate will have strong presentation & communication skills, have an apt for problem solving, a passion for analyzing large chunks of information and identifying trends and risk issues, and then be able to form a concise view and strategy on how best to mitigate with help from the overall risk team.
