      About Ronald McDonald House Charities

      Ronald McDonald House Charities creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. RMHC strives to be part of the solution to issues challenging families today. We use our resources and partnerships in the community to help families gain access to healthcare services and keep families close during critical points in their children's lives. RMHC serves children and families through three core programs, and also through specialized local programs. Our core programs include:

      • the Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home away from home for families while their child is accessing care at a nearby hospital;
      • Ronald McDonald Family Room programs, which are in-hospital programs that allow parents to recharge, grab a meal or get some sleep down the hall from their child’s treatment;
      • and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs, which are mobile programs that bring medical care, dental care and health education right into communities where access to care may be limited.

      Position Purpose

      We are seeking a talented Director, Culture & Learning who will lead RMHC Global’s learning and professional development team and system that supports over 5,000 RMHC global staff in over 60 countries and regions in the world, including the RMHC Global team based in Chicago. The leader will also partner with human resources to ensure the RMHC Global team is developing, and retaining a diverse and inclusive Global team through culture building and professional development experiences which include training and development in equity, diversity and inclusion.

      This individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer and have regular engagement with all members of the RMHC Global Senior Leadership Team.

      Key responsibilities of this position include:

      Organizational Development and Learning

      • Lead the development and execution of RMHC Global’s Learning and Development strategy to equip the RMHC System of Chapter staff, volunteers and RMHC Global team, with the skills and knowledge needed for professional growth
      • Oversee existing L&D programming (Executive Leadership Program, Advancing Leadership Program, virtual webinar series, etc)
      • Oversee the development and execution of a robust, employee-led and leadership endorsed culture strategy that responds to employee feedback.
      • Develop and execute a plan to embed new system values (e.x. ensuring all references are updated, developing curriculum to increase understanding, adding to leadership development, etc).

      Talent Attraction

      • Partner with Senior Leadership Team to develop and support the execution of a multi-year staffing plan/workforce strategy to enable key priorities of the RMHC Global Impact Strategy
      • Develop and execute global strategic initiatives that address critical RMHC system staffing and volunteer gaps (e.x. talent exchanges, Chapter residencies, internships, fellowships, etc)

      Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

      • Based on the findings from the organization’s first system-wide diagnostic, lead development and implementation of a Global EDI roadmap – both for the system and the Global team - working collaboratively with global leaders from around the world and senior leadership.

      Business Partnership Support

      • In partnership with McDonald’s Human Resources team, ensure the successful execution of all people processes across the RMHC Global team (recruiting, performance management, onboarding, career development etc)
      • In partnership with McDonald’s Human Resources team, coach and counsel people managers on employee-related matters (staffing, culture, performance mgmt., etc)

      Qualifications

      • Degree in human resources management or related field.
      • Demonstrated understanding of HR disciplines, including diversity and inclusion, performance management, talent management, culture, etc.
      • Experience in leading equity, diversity and inclusion efforts.
      • Strong people manager
      • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other leaders to build trust and achieve outcomes for an organization and system.
      • Demonstrated training and facilitation ability
      • Experience developing and executing culture change and change management efforts
      • Highly organized with meticulous attention to details.
      • Stellar communication and presentation skills
