Are you looking for a role with great benefits that fits your career aspirations and allows you to have a meaningful and positive impact on your community? Have you ever dreamed of being an NHS Hero? If so, South Western Ambulance Service might be just what you are looking for!
As a Lead Scheduler, you will play a vital role in maintaining Operational staffing levels in a variety of roles, from ensuring our Emergency Operations centers (EOC) are effectively staffed through to ensuring that our ambulance crews are available to respond quickly and safely to the general public in their time of need.
Main duties of the job
Schedulers work proactively to plan operational working patterns and to improve any shortfalls in cover levels. You will use bespoke rostering and reporting software to constantly monitor A&E and EOC resourcing levels and vehicle availability, contributing to providing the very best care to our patients.
If you have talent in planning and organisation, like solving puzzles and are energised by teamwork and the NHS, this could be just what you are looking for.
This is a fantastic, varied and interesting role that allows the post holder to have a direct, important and positive impact on Emergency NHS Health Care across the South West of England. The post holder is also able to have a positive and supportive impact on the working lives of our operational and front line colleagues and to be a part of the NHS and Ambulance Service family.
The role comes with a full training package and allows for varied career development pathways and internal progression; including supervisory and line management roles, technical and data analysis based roles and project management roles.
About us
Working for us is an experience like no other. Our Trust provides emergency and urgent care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, operating across the largest ambulance region in England.
We manage, on average, 2,650 incidents per day and remain absolutely committed to ensuring that we provide the best possible care for all our patients. This commitment is reflected in the Trust's new five-year strategy which has continuously improving patient care at its very core.
The role is based in Exeter, one of the most vibrant, attractive and historcially interesting cities in England, with excellent transport links and a great mix of independent shops and boutiques, cafes and bars.
If you are looking to make a real difference to peoples' lives, whilst working in a beautiful and diverse part of the country then we would love to hear from you.
In return we will equip you with the skills, resources and development you need to help you thrive in your role and you will be supported by an award-winning Staying Well Service.

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
