      WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW *This is a paid, part-time, internship opportunity that will run through June of 2024. You must be a currently enrolled student in San Diego County.

      Internship opportunity for an undergraduate student or trainee to gain work experience offered by an organization for a limited period of time. Assist in the assessment and development of ARC programs. Conduct research related to the program and recommend processes for greater efficiency. Assist with the creation and/or maintenance of program, plans, and systems. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

      Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

      The Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) mission is to provide care and comfort to the members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. It is the impetus for the establishment of the American Red Cross (ARC). SAF at the Red Cross is a mixture of both tradition and innovation. ARC continues to provide traditional support to military families; serve in military and veterans hospitals, and conduct emergency communication. But, we also continually adapt our traditional services and create new programs to meet the needs of today’s military member, veterans and their families.

      Job Summary:

      Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

      Responsibilities:
      1. Support multiple programs as needed.

      2. Analyzes data, presents facts and recommends solutions.

      3. May create, develop, or maintain databases for various lines of service events or projects.

      4. Assist with the development of reports and other informational materials presented to management.

      5. Typically has unit-specific responsibilities in the scope of the job.

      Pay Information: The pay range for this position is ( CA ): $ 1 6.50/hr. - $16.83/hr .

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

      WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

      Education: Is actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Prefer degree program related to assignment. Prefer candidate in at least junior year if Bachelor's degree.

      * Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined


      Experience: Some office related experience with computer skills in Microsoft Office and other database applications may be required, video editing skills preferred. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills preferred.

      Management Experience: None

      Skills and Abilities: Professional demeanor, computer database/Microsoft Office skills with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Organizational skills.

      Travel may be required. A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.

      Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.

      Work Conditions: Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster response organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.
