- Ensure compliance through OSHA/ DOT including employee (task) training and monitoring occupational exposure
- Monitor safety progress against goals and proactively implement initiatives that will improve safety performance
- Partner with Regional management on day-to-day needs and strategic safety initiatives.
- Direct and/or conduct prompt investigations of safety related incidents including root-cause analysis. Serve as contact person between regulatory agencies and operations as required
- Track and analyze incidents and determine corrective actions to mitigate like incidents from occurring in the future. Develop and implement initiatives based on information gathered.
- Manage pro-active Behavior Based Safety Program with direct line responsibility to the corporate safety program
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university required, Master’s degree preferred
- Must have an understanding of laws and regulations as they relate to safety compliance
- Previous experience dealing with OSHA and DOT agencies
- 5 years minimum experience within a manufacturing facility with exposure to plant equipment and operations. In addition, experience managing a behavior-based safety program is strongly desired
- Must have experience in establishing / nurturing a proactive safety culture
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite – Specifically Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Visio
- Demonstrated ability to form meaningful partnerships with various business leaders
- Position requires up to 50% travel throughout central and northern Florida.
Titan Florida has a Safety Manager opening for our Northern & Central Florida operations. This salary exempt position will be based out of Orlando, Fl and will report directly to the Assistant Safety Director for Titan North America. The primary function of this position is to ensure compliance for all safety affairs as regulated through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT), as well as improve safety performance at the individual locations throughout central and northern Florida.
