Job summary
Nightingale Valley Practice (NVP) is recruiting a new salaried GP to join the team based in Brislington, Bristol to support their career and the practice going forwards in 2025.
Depending on the individual and their experience this would be between 4 to 6 sessions per week across 3 - 4 days. The role will include pro-rata up to 6 weeks annual leave, one week study leave, additional training (if required) and administrative time. Senior clinical mentoring will also be included.
Main duties of the job
Whilst managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting and ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients, the post-holder will also lead on clinical areas and projects to enhance the practice, benefit team members and support patients operationally and strategically.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SALARIED GP AT NVP
Patient Care - Are you Caring and Effective?
In accordance with the Practice session timetable, you will be available to undertake a variety of duties including on site and telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with lab results, queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
The successful candidate will also:
-Take the lead role of responsible duty doctor as part of a rota.
-Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
-Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
-Prescribe in accordance with the BNSSG and Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
-Support other staff such as GP trainees, PCN allied staff, ANPs and nurses with clinical queries
-Participate in proportionally shared Enhanced Access (EA) hours (to be discussed) along with the other clinicians within the business. This could be early starts, late working or Saturday working (prorata, prebooked and fairly allocated.)
