Job summary
To be eligible you must be a newly qualified GP and have qualified within 2 years (after 30th September 2022) and must not have had substantive employment within a GP practice. This is a fixed term salaried contract of four sessions per week until 31st March 2026 with potential for extension.
Main duties of the job
Core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Chorlton Family Practice is a large training practice in South Manchester with a supportive, enthusiastic team in a relaxed and encouraging working environment. We have a practice list size of over 22,500 and run over two sites within walking distance of each other.
