      Do you want to apply your commercial B2B experience to drive growth and help decarbonize industry?


      We are looking for a seasoned professional to join the commercial department of Hydro Aluminium Metal, responsible for the global sale of Hydro’s casthouse products.


      In the transition towards a greener economy, Hydro takes leadership by continuously pushing for lower carbon aluminium products to the market. In this role you will be working with the product Wire Rod, which is an excellent raw material for high-voltage cable and wire producers, and key input to electricity infrastructure. We supply about 70,000 tons of aluminium wire rod to the European market, through well-established customer relations and partnerships.


      We now aim for growth in this segment through increased sales volumes, premiums, product development, and industry partnerships, and you will drive this development. The main geographical focus will be Northern Europe.

      About the job and your responsibilities

      You will combine sales activities with longer term business development initiatives. Tasks include to:

      • Manage the wire rod sales process, including to draft and negotiate annual supply contracts, and to follow up sales strategies, tactics, plans, volumes, and profit.
      • Maintain short and long-term volume and product forecasts.
      • Develop and manage customer relationships to achieve volume and margin targets.
      • Identify and develop new business opportunities in target markets.
      • Manage and nurture partnerships, work strategically to develop and support our product and sustainability offering towards key customers, negotiate longer term contracts.
      • Contribute to market analysis, strategy, and operation improvement programs.
      • Lead a small market team and align priorities across functional areas (production, sales, technical support, credit management).

      Your qualifications and skills

      • A relevant MSc or equivalent degree, coupled with 10 years' relevant B2B experience.
      • A strategic and commercial mindset, with demonstrated results within sales and business development.
      • Experience from negotiations, developing sustainable products and services.
      • Exposure to the energy infrastructure/systems value chain, aluminum and/or other metal industry is an advantage.
      • Fluent in English – written and spoken. Additional skills in German are an advantage.

      Additional Information
      You will report to Head of Wire Rod & HyForge. The position is in Oslo, Norway, but other locations in Germany, close to our markets in Europe, could be considered. Business travels is expected.
