- The candidate will be a key member of the both Academic and Library teams with the ability to handle multiple marketing projects simultaneously: coordinate award mailings; website maintenance; contribute to website posts/social media; and participate in title presentations, among other duties
- The candidate will interact with educators and librarians—answer customer questions, listen to their concerns, and resolve any emerging concerns
- The position will include occasional business travel to 5-7 academic and library conferences per year
- The candidate will provide administrative support for both Academic and Library departments
- The candidate will have a passion for writing, editing, and research, as well as an understanding of the publishing industry
- The candidate will have exceptional language, grammar, and research skills, and be able to work both independently or in a team setting
- The candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite is required and a familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred
- 1+ years publishing experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
The Macmillan Academic Marketing Department seeks a creative, highly-organized individual to help market books from the adult trade divisions and client publishers to colleges and high schools. This position offers a variety of responsibilities, among them digital marketing (including maintenance of various academic marketing websites), social media marketing, copywriting, administrative duties (including correspondence with educators), and some travel to academic conferences. This is an ideal position for an enthusiastic, motivated person to champion books that can make a difference to educators and students, and get them established in college syllabi and school curricula.

This role will have an annual salary of $47,500.
