Lead the implementation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud at Penn State University with responsibility for the continuous success of the platform across m ultiple business units and Salesforce CRM orgs
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure effective development and support of Marketing Cloud platform
Develop and maintain Marketing Cloud data extensions, data models, and data integrations with other systems
Configure and manage Marketing Cloud connectors, including Salesforce CRM, social media platforms, and third-party integrations
Monitor and troubleshoot Marketing Cloud data synchronization processes and resolve any errors or data quality issues
Implement and manage Marketing Cloud security and compliance measures, including user access control, data retention policies, and GDPR compliance
Design and implement complex Marketing Cloud automation workflows, including event-based triggers, behavioral triggers, dynamic content, and personalized messaging
Design, implement, and maintain communication preference center s across business units and in conjunction with Salesforce orgs and external systems
Develop and maintain Marketing Cloud API integrations with other systems, such as web analytics platforms, e-commerce platforms, and event management systems
Define and execute email data interactions (import, data extracts, file transfers)
Guide interpretation and improvements based on Marketing Cloud Intelligence analytics (formerly Datorama)
Lead and participate in Marketing Cloud testing and quality assurance processes, including user acceptance testing, regression testing, and performance testing
Manage Marketing Cloud email deliverability, including IP reputation monitoring, email authentication, and bounce management
Manage subscribers across Marketing Cloud business units and in relation to the Salesforce Customer Data Platform (CDP)
Develop and maintain Marketing Cloud documentation, including system diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals
Provide training and technical support to end-users and troubleshoot any issues related to Marketing Cloud functionality or configuration
Identify and recommend solutions to optimize Marketing Cloud performance
Stay up to date with the latest Marketing Cloud features and capabilities and advise on new opportunities
Typically requires a bachelors degree and 4+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Bachelor's degree in m arketing, c omputer s cience, or related field and a t least 3 years of experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud administrator is highly desired.
Experience with Marketing Cloud Journey Builder, Email Studio, Contact Builder, Interaction Studio , Automation Studio, and utilizing Salesforce Data Extensions
Strong knowledge of marketing automation and CRM concepts
Experience working with multiple Marketing Cloud business units is preferred
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator , Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, and Consultant certifications preferred but not required
Strong knowledge of data analytics related to marketing metrics
Experience with building and configuring email templates and landing pages including Ampscript
Knowledge of and experience writing SQL
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Penn State University is seeking a skilled Salesforce Marketing Cloud Lead / Administrator. This is a critical role leading the implementation of Marketing Cloud at Penn State University , a critical service to the Enterprise Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) program and Salesforce CRM platform . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting the Marketing Cloud platform including planning, implementing, and maintaining the Marketing Cloud platform across multiple business units as well as providing guidance and training to end-users.
The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote within the United States, fully in-person at our University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone.
