      Position Details:

      As an SAP Cloud Solution Architect, you will plan and advise on the technical architecture of Grainger’s SAP estate in the cloud. You will leverage your strong SAP basis/S4 HANA expertise and experience running SAP workloads in public cloud(Iaas) to architect solutions and advise leaders on best practices and migration options.

      You will report to the Senior Director, Business systems and can be based either in Chicago, IL or remotely.

      Compensation:

      This position is salaried and will pay between $139,740 to $214,710.

      Total compensation will include annual bonus and long-term incentive.

      Target total compensation is expected to be in the range of $182,855 - $272,652.

      You Will:

      • Demonstrate experience in how to safely run SAP S4HANA workloads in the cloud
      • Advise leadership on best practices and how to improve running SAP in the cloud
      • Align with SAP Basis and Infrastructure Engineering Teams on the activities involved in migrating SAP to a cloud environment and operating it there.
      • Understand the technical interdependencies between SAP and bolt-ons/interfaces and how to logically migrate systems.

      You Have:

      • 5+ years of experience running SAP workloads in a public cloud
      • Experience with SAP Basis roles and responsibilities in a Linux and HANA environment including system sizing, performance tuning, upgrades, and monitoring.
      • Experience with cloud practices associated with running SAP in AWS such as Configuration as Code(Cac) and Operations as Code(OaC)
      • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, Solution Manager, HANA cockpit, Zenoss
      • Understanding of HA/DR patterns for SAP in an AWS environment.
      • Working knowledge of how CI\CD is used in managing change within SAP environments.
      • Understanding of SAP best practices in other cloud providers (GCP and Azure) is a bonus.
      • Knowledge of infrastructure team disciplines in networking, security, storage, and compute.
      • High-level knowledge of SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software and understanding of high-level dependencies between the different modules and legacy systems.
      • Network and engage across a broad member base to understand their needs and how that translates to Grainger’s system strategy.
      • Familiarity with tools used for “as Code” practices such as Terraform, Ansible, JSON, GitHub, and GitHub actions
      • Understanding of the application development environments, including an awareness of trends and directions in new technologies.
      • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent related experience
