- Assists SBA loan officers in reviewing and processing commercial loan applications.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of SBA eligibility, loan structure, occupancy, use of loan proceeds, regulatory requirements and the SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicates regularly with underwriters and loan closers to ensure timing deadlines are met, questions are addressed and that the process for all involved is positive.
- Prepares loan requests for formal underwriting by gathering financial information and supporting documentation.
- Processes and reviews documents received for each file, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document.
- Inputs loan application data into loan origination system.
- Performs pre-flight analysis to determine eligibility and basic underwriting to determine credit-worthiness.
- Actively reaches out to inform the borrower regarding loan status and documents all communication.
- Communicates with members regarding the lending product and general loan-related questions ensuring a positive member experience.
- Handles all member and in-house inquiries about transactions to ensure members receive superior service.
- Reviews loans in the pipeline and works with the closing specialists to ensure that settlement dates are met.
- Assists in ordering credit reports, business entity searches, title insurance, appraisals, evaluations, environmental reports and other third party reports.
- Gathers information for HMDA reporting and other regulatory reporting.
- Works alongside loan officers, underwriters, and closing specialists to maintain a high quality of work and efficiency in operations to ensure approved loans are originated.
- Ensures that members’ requests and questions are promptly resolved. Makes member satisfaction a priority.
- Has an advanced understanding of personal and business financial statement analysis (income statement and balance sheet), cash flow, and business/personal tax returns.
- Solicits and develops new business, takes applications and processes preliminary documentation for loan requests.
- Makes retention and development calls on existing and potential new members for both loans and deposit related products.
- Expected to generate loan originations consistent with an entry-level threshold.
- Evaluates credit data, cash flow, financial statements and collateral to determine the credit worthiness of applicants.
- Explains loan products and related credit criteria in such a manner as to elicit positive responses from members.

- Educates members regarding credit union products and services and how they can better serve their individual financial needs.
- Communicates clear reasons for denial in a timely manner to applicants when their loan request has been denied.
- Presents and helps prepare credit proposals including recommendations for pricing, terms and structure to approving authority(ies).
- Has a strong understanding of real estate transactions, construction loans, 1031 exchanges, MAI appraisals, title insurance, regulatory requirements, etc.
- Travels and conduct property inspections as necessary.
- Completes required pipeline, incentive and related reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Attends and participates in sales meetings and loan committees as required.
- Serves as a back up to commercial loan officers in presenting new loans in loan committee.
- Attends assigned training sessions and stays current on new procedures and policies
- Establishes and maintains effective and professional business relations with members, third parties and other trade professionals.
- Prepares loan renewal, extension and modification requests for underwriting.
- Assists members with online account opening, as needed.
- Assists in other tasks and projects as assigned.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with financial reporting or tax analysis software preferred.
- Experience with loan origination systems preferred.
- Experience with loan documentation software preferred.
- Experience with Symitar preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations.
- Demonstrated ability to present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.
- Strong writing and grammatical skills relating to preparing credit memos, addendums, memorandums, and all forms of written communication.

Job Summary
This position assists the senior SBA loan officers with all activities associated with SBA lending, including working directly with borrowers and/or brokers to deliver a seamless and prompt SBA loan experience. This position will be from the “contact to contract” phase of the loan cycle, and will be involved in collecting, reviewing, evaluating, structuring, and originating SBA loan requests including all supporting documentation. This support will allow our SBA loan officers to focus on originating more loans into the pipeline. Reports to the Director of Sales.Job Description

Experience
Four Years commercial lending/sales or related sales experience in a progressive financial setting.
Experience in SBA and commercial loan processing/sales setting preferred
Education
Two-year degree from an accredited institution in business, marketing, finance, economics or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Managerial Responsibility
Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
