      POSITION SUMMARY:

      This Scheduling position is responsible for optimally scheduling gasoline and distillate products out of origin refineries/terminals and delivering light products to destination terminals. The successful candidate will be assigned to the Southern Region and experience many diverse scheduling roles. Modes of distribution used to execute the scheduling plan include: barge, pipeline, rail, and truck. The candidate will have direct interaction with a wide array of organizations within MPC/MPLX and conduct business with pipelines, terminals, trading companies and other external partners. The applicant should be organized, self-motivated, team oriented, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset.

      This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications .

      KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

      Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Nominates light product pipeline and waterborne movements to support Marketing, Speedway and Exchange’s forecast and bulk sales/purchase activity.
      • Monitors refinery and terminal inventories as well as shipping schedules on a daily basis to ensure that supply meets Marketing, Speedway and Exchange’s forecast.
      • Prepares daily status reports to communicate supply concerns to Pricing, Trading, Marketing, Trucking, etc.
      • Works closely with direct supervisor to executes scheduling strategies that optimize changes in supply due to operating constraints, unplanned events, and changes in market fundamentals. Works with internal and external partners to accommodate such changes.
      • Facilitates and helps execute plans with Terminals, Transport Operations, Marine, Pipelines and Marketing/Speedway/Exchange on any issues that would impact supply to a given terminal.
      • Works with Operations Planning, Terminals and Marketing to develop a plan for tank conversions and planned/unplanned maintenance scenarios.
      • Works with RVP Coordinator, Terminals, Pipelines, and Marketing to coordinate RVP conversion during VOC season.
      • Monitors inventory balances for Exchange contracts.
      • Remains on call 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies or provide guidance and instruction.
      • The above responsibilities notwithstanding, the final scope of the role will be determined by the experience level of the candidate selected.

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

      • Minimum bachelor's degree in related field is required
      • Two or more years of experience in refining and marketing/petrochemical industry required
      • Crude oil/refined products scheduling experience preferred.
      • Up to 10% travel is required
