What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Interpret the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and state standards for large-scale assessment development
- Design innovative science assessment tasks utilizing various media formats
- Edit and review science assessment items to ensure adherence to writing guidelines and project specifications
- Lead science content expertise on projects, including creating item development plans and training content staff
- Develop and deliver professional development workshops related to assessment development and standards

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience within the last three years in large-scale assessment development
- Degree in a science-related field (Master's preferred; advanced coursework in biological sciences preferred)
- Strong understanding of NGSS and Framework for all grades in science
- Proven editing skills, including content and copy editing
- Strong oral and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Teaching experience in science or a background in science education
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software applications
- Experience working in assessment development platforms
