What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Interpret the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and other state standards for large-scale assessment development
- Design innovative science assessment tasks using various media and interactive formats
- Edit and review science assessment items and associated scoring materials to ensure quality and adherence to guidelines
- Serve as the lead science content specialist on projects, facilitating content review meetings and client interactions
- Mentor junior content staff and provide expertise in research projects related to standards and assessments

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience within the last three years in large-scale assessment development
- Degree in a science-related field (Master’s degree preferred; advanced coursework in biological sciences preferred)
- Strong understanding of assessing NGSS and Framework for all grades and disciplines of science
- Proven editing skills in content and copy editing
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Teaching experience in science or a background in science education
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Familiarity with multiple assessment development platforms
- Knowledge of PDF software applications with markup capability
- Ability to adapt project directions and modify documents as necessary
