Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content
Craft standards-aligned lessons and assessments independently
Work productively and collaboratively with content leads, editors, designers and producers within a cycle of drafting, reviewing feedback, and incorporating feedback to produce highly effective final lessons and stronger content moving forwards
Meet tight deadlines
Ensure all written content is accurate and standards-aligned
Create standards’ correlations and other technical documents as needed
Maintain consistency of voice and adhering to program style, vision, and philosophy
BS in a Scientific (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science), Education, or related field
5+ years science education-related experience
Experience creating challenging and engaging lessons and assessments
Strong understanding of scientific terminology and concepts
Ability to work independently and collaboratively and incorporate feedback
Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and balance work on multiple projects
Proficiency with a range of technology including Google Suite products
Attention to detail and a commitment to creating high quality work
Knowledge of technology-enhanced assessment items (TEIs)
Experience teaching science to a diverse range of elementary and middle grade students
Experience crafting curricula for science standards outside of your own
Proven experience as a science writer or similar role, preferably in a contract or freelance capacity, for an educational publisher
Graduate degree in a Science or Education related field
Experience crafting technology-enhanced assessment items (TEIs)

Amplify is seeking a Science Curriculum Writer to help create lessons and assessments for grades K-8 students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education, excellent writing skills, the ability to analyze and interpret state and national standards, and experience in curriculum writing.
Curriculum writers are provided ongoing training. They work in an iterative and fast-paced environment to craft consistent content drafts and apply ongoing feedback to ensure that the final lessons and assessments meet the high quality customers expect from Amplify. Candidates should have experience working in a highly iterative and results focused environment.
