Job Description

- Plan and conduct experiments, analyze, and interpret the results.
- Proactively communicate with supervisor and peers as needed to ensure optimal work environment
- Discuss and share the results of research with colleagues through presentations or discussions at team meetings
- Maintain accurate lab notebooks and training files in accordance with relevant Thermo Fisher required standards to support patent application and other international standards (e.g., ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.).
- Prepare and present experimental data summaries and protocol writing
- Keep up to date with other research being carried out in, or related to, their field of study
- Advise supervisor of factors that may affect quality, accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness of data
- Assist in the interpretation of experiment results
- Assist in creating kits when assigned to a kit production project
- Monitor and proactively address back orders and ability to forecast project completions
- Follow ISO and GMP guidelines when assigned to a relevant project
- Participate in the planning and execution of production
- Align with all company safety regulations and procedures

- Minimum Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in chemistry or related field
- 1+ years of relevant work experience protein purification or in a Research Scientist position, preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and certification requirements, preferred
- Strong computer skills as well as ability to collect, organize, and interpret data.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interpret, summarize, and present scientific results in a clear, concise, accurate manner
- Ability to multitask, shift priorities and work at a rapid pace.
- Effective organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple and changing projects and priorities.
- Ability to formulate and take on problems efficiently
- Self-starter to work efficiently and independently and to troubleshoot and take on problems
- Must be a self-starter, have excellent time management and organization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft computer applications

Our Recombinant Proteins (REP) Business Unit in Cranbury, NJ is part of our Biosciences Division. REP unites deep scientific expertise with a collaborative culture to build a product portfolio that includes cytokines, growth factors, antibodies and ELISA kits used to support the research of our academic, government, biotech, and pharmaceutical customers.
