      Who We Are

      Systemic Bio is a 3D Systems subsidiary based in Houston, TX, focused on the development of human vascularized organ and disease models to be used for drug discovery and development. Founded in August 2022 with a $15M seed investment from its parent company, Systemic Bio is using its proprietary bioprinting and organ-on-a-chip technology to accelerate drug development timelines, increase clinical trial success rates, and eventually put an end to animal testing.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Utilize advanced organ-on-a-chip system to develop preclinical models for drug testing.
      • Establish 3D assays demonstrating the viability, function, and pharmacokinetics.
      • Analyze complex, multifaceted biological data and clearly communicate results through written reports and oral presentations. Apply statistical techniques as appropriate.
      • Stay current with the literature and technological advances in relevant fields.

      Education and Trainings:

      • PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience or BS/MS with minimum 8+ years of industry experience in relevant fields.

      • Training should be in tissue engineering, cell biology, biomaterials science, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related life science discipline.

      Experience:

      • Experience with design, execution, and analysis of diverse cell biology and tissue engineering.
      • Proven ability to collaborate in a strong interdisciplinary team environment.
      • Proven ability to analyze biological statistics, draw conclusions and clearly report results and suggested next steps.
      • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
      • Ability to work independently to deliver results.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      • Proficiency with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques, ideally including experience with primary cells and/or 3D culture models is highly desirable.
      • Extensive hands-on experience with method development of relevant molecular assays, including qPCR, ELISA, IF/IHC imaging, and high-throughput data analysis is required.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to build open and collaborative relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
      • Excellent organizational, technical writing, and record keeping skills.
      • Ability to formulate solid conclusions without direct supervision.
      • Strong analytical skills to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
      • Demonstrates sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for defining problems and obtaining solutions.
      • Continual learner who works independently and possesses a can-do attitude.
      • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities rapidly to meet tight deadlines.
      • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
