      Requisition ID: 71013

      Summary

At Skyworks’ AIS division, we create mixed signal ASICs targeted at audio and wireless audio applications. These are highly integrated designs incorporating audio codecs, amplifiers, battery chargers, DSP processors, peripherals,
and power control systems that support a wide range of communication interfaces. The Firmware group works with the hardware team to help specify these custom systems. From there, we create the core operating system and driver components and follow this through to finished silicon and SDK packages that we provide to application teams. If you dream of writing code for ASICs whose function none of your friends will understand and surmounting the challenges inherent in a constrained environment, this might be the place for you. We are looking for a Summer 2024 Intern to join our team based in Hillsboro, Oregon. The work is challenging, and interns are expected to take on actual real-world problems and contribute code that will be deployed to production. We know this is demanding, and we provide support and mentoring to help you through the difficulties, including code reviews with constructive feedback.

      Responsibilities

      • Participate in the development, debugging and testing of drivers on existing and upcoming SoCs.
      • Develop scripts in Python and write makefiles to support building and testing of the SoC code.
      • Collaborate with team members to get support for your questions and bugs
      • Take part in meetings to update the team on your progress and exchange ideas
      • Create documentation and automated tests for your code

      Qualifications and Educational Requirements

      • BS/MS in EE/ECE or similar - you must be enrolled in an educational program for the duration of the internship
      • Solid C programming skills
      • A computational mindset with a demonstrated ability to grasp and discuss algorithms

      Preferred Skills

      • Understanding of embedded hardware peripherals including GPIOs, SPI, and I²C is a significant advantage
      • Python scripting knowledge is highly desirable
      • Experience collaborating on projects including open source projects
