      Department Summary

      The Corporate Security Department is responsible for all Physical Security across the PG&E Enterprise.

      Position Summary

      The Security Control Specialist (Intermediate Support) is responsible for ensuring the company’s security response to alarms, incidents, and events which affect PG&E assets. You will work with Line of Business (LOB) contacts and build relationships with key LOB customers to address potential issues and concerns on matters of security and regulatory compliance. The SCC Specialist is responsible for a 8-10 person shift (varies per shift), ensuring all operational protocols (reports, critical monitoring, operator coaching, etc.)are covered during the shift; with the ability to shift between multiple priorities during the shift using critical security monitoring technologies throughout (AMAG/Access Control, Genetec / Camera System, NC4/Incident intel, Monitor Twitter, etc.).

      The role will require you to be in-person at the Security Operations Center in Vacaville. This a 24/365 operation and your shift will be assigned upon hire (Day, Swing or Grave).

      PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

      The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.10 to $52.40.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Lead security control center (SCC) operators in coordinated activities and interface with the LOB on NERC/CIP/SOX and other regulatory or government requirements.
      • Work with Corporate Security Department personnel to address information or data requests.
      • Manage access control and related security systems.
      • Work with LOB contacts to resolve immediate security concerns.
      • Respond to and/or lead operators in response to security events, incidents, and alarms.
      • Retrieve relevant security data and provide to Law Enforcement or LOBs as directed.
      • Acknowledge alarms and manage security equipment outages or failures.
      • Direct site security responses to security events.
      • Review operator correspondence and reports as required.
      • Identify regulatory compliance issues affecting the security environment/SCC Operations.
      • Identify training for operators and conduct exercises.

      Qualifications

      Minimum:

      • AA/AS degree or equivalent work experience
      • Valid driver’s license
      • 3 years of security operations experience
      • Must be able to obtain NERC/CIP clearance after hire.

      Desired:

      • Previous leadership experience
      • Military or law enforcement experience
      • Previous security dispatch experience

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to take initiative.
      • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
      • Works with limited supervision and guidance, both independently and/or as a team member.
      • Ability to manage time appropriately in a dynamic operational environment.
      • Knowledgeable of physical security equipment, systems, and procedures.
      • Analytical and organizational skills.
      • Knowledge of applicable state and federal government regulations (NERC, FERC, SOX, etc.).
      • Ability to train new operators and evaluate based on established criteria.
      • Ability to effectively prioritize actions during rapidly evolving events under stressful circumstances.
      • Ability to apply negotiating techniques, subject matter, and strategy to obtain commitment, compromise, or settlement in a way that promotes mutual goals and interests. Able to grasp the workings of the total organization and LOB specific needs; aligns and maneuvers organizational resources and internal politics skillfully to accomplish goals.
      • Able to engage personnel and utilizes available resources to determine the cause and relationship of security related events.
