      Role:

      To maintain and implement predefined processes and procedures ensuring the physical protection of the people and property of the Credit Union. Use independent analysis and judgment to quickly, effectively, and safely resolve difficult or complex situations within guidelines while protecting the assets of the Credit Union.

      Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

      25% Continually review and monitor basic physical security aspects at all branch and office locations ensuring processes are in place to yield acceptable audit results and minimize losses. This includes key administration, alarm access, video review and preservation, monthly employee card access attestation, and ensuring departing employees are urgently removed from all security systems.

      20% Serve as the Credit Union’s contact for emergencies and local authorities handling investigations, research requests, video surveillance requests, and attending court on behalf of and with Credit Union employees while maintaining high levels of confidentiality.

      15% Maintain relationships with local law enforcement and participate in security related training/ certifications.

      15% Implement and evaluate established robbery and personal safety training for employees. Assist with business continuity scenarios that may involve various potential security incidents at any location.

      15% Perform yearly physical security reviews of all locations and make appropriate recommendations as needed. Participate in renovation and new construction projects when requested relating to alarms, video surveillance, and card access.

      5% Prepare reports relating to Physical Security capacity trending and incidents (including but not limited to workplace violence, disruptive members, robberies, etc.).

      5% Other duties as assigned.

      Performance Measurements:

      1. Must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including, but not limited to, OFAC and the Bank Secrecy Act. Meets or exceeds performance expectations as described in Essential Functions and Responsibilities. Please refer to Annual Performance Goal document for remaining Performance Measurements.

      Knowledge and Skills:

      Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Familiarity with physical security standards. Previous experience working within a financial institution that provides the basics of financial operations is preferred.

      Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

      Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

      Other Skills: Skill and ability to use and operate a keyboard (typewriter), computer, calculator, fax machine, copier and telephone. Skill and ability to read and understand financial statements, contracts, applications, computer printouts, manuals and other related materials. Must have the skill and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.

      Work Environment: Work is performed indoors in an office environment with normal potential for exposure to safety and health hazards. May periodically travel to other, similar sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
