- Maintain data entry daily logs on hand-held device while posted at a desk or patrolling.
- Responds to emergency calls, works with local law enforcement as necessary and complete detailed reports following the incident/interactions.
- Greet and welcome incoming visitors to campus. Provide information in a professional courteous manner while building a rapport with University Staff, Faculty, Students and Visitors.
- Follows established procedures and guidelines to maintain the safety and security of the university’s employees, students, visitors, and property.
- Patrol assigned areas of campus on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, maintenance issues, suspicious activity, and persons or safety/fire hazards.
- Investigate and/or report hazards and unusual or suspicious circumstances to local law enforcement or campus police unit for correction or follow-up actions; maintain contact with campus police.
- Inspects grounds and premises according to established schedules personally and/or with electronic surveillance equipment.
- Good communication, including written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to problem-solve and make independent decisions.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Prior work experience not required.

The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Planning and Operations team handles campus services like security, emergency planning, trip reduction, motor pool and are the folks who keep the lights on, the water running, the grass green and the buildings clean! Due to the nature of our educational environment and commitment to the safety of campus, this position will be expected to work evenings and weekends.
The Campus is a 30-acre, urban medical and bioscience campus with more than 1.7 million square-feet of biomedical-related research, academic, and clinical facilities with plans for more than 6 million square-feet at build out. It is the only site where you will find all 3 of Arizona’s public universities in one location conducting and collaborating in research.
