ARMED SECURITY GUARD - 2nd and 3rd shifts
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
One year of manufacturing security experience. Must be able to remain proficient with the use of firearms and safety. CT Pistol permit, blue card holder, first aid and CPR certified.
DESCRIPTION:
1. Responsible for the protection of life and property and promotion of safety of all company personnel and other persons under the jurisdiction of Colt.
2. Monitors entrance and exit of all persons and packages at all times.
3. Patrols areas inside and outside the facility, checks for fire and safety hazards.
4. Displays a firm, courteous and patient attitude at all times to employees and visitors, makes special effort to assist visitors within the scope of authority so as to provide a good first impression of the company facility.
5. Makes periodic inspection tours about buildings, fences, parking areas and grounds, examining doors, windows and gates to see that they are properly secured and have not been tampered with, continually watches for irregularities.
6. Assists in controlling riots, strikes or others emergency situations.
7. At times of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations, protects evidence and/or crime scene area.
8. If something of significance occurs while on duty and requires immediate action, reports facts to supervisor and takes necessary steps to handle matter in proper manner.
9. Responds to all alarms within three minutes.
10. Stays abreast with modern security.
11. All security officer duties involve both inside and outdoor activities with periods of exposure to all types of weather, willingness to work alone at night, standing and walking during most of the hours of duty and being subject to injury in dealing with intruders, drunks and criminals, and in restraining delirious or mentally afflicted persons.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION:
Suggests to Security Sergeant or Director of Security, any possible improvements to security policies and procedures.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP AND NORMAL CONTACTS:
Reports directly to Security Sergeants.
COMMENTS:
Conducts other such duties as required by Security Sergeants.
