- Prepare day-to-day and month-end close entries, including revenue, payroll, and accrued liabilities.
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger balances and perform monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules; assist with month-end and fiscal year-end closings.
- Collaborate with the CFO and external auditors during year-end processes, preparing necessary reports and schedules.
- Enforce internal controls and prepare monthly financial statements.
- Support annual budget preparation and manage various health center reports, including grant budgeting.
- Provide technical assistance and support for grants administration, including federal and state grants.
- Develop program budgets with project teams and ensure accurate reconciliation across departments.
- Maintain documentation for grant-specific audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Experience with integrated financial software; knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge is a plus.
- Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, and CFR standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Summary:
The Senior Accountant is a key player in our finance team, responsible for financial reporting and accounting operations. In this role, you will work closely with our CFO, a phenomenal leader with over 25 years of experience, who will provide you with invaluable learning opportunities. You will maintain schedules and documentation for monthly closings, quarterly reviews, and annual audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. This position also involves analyzing complex accounting issues and managing special projects to enhance our financial processes.
