      Reports to: Assistant Controller

      Location – onsite/hybrid: Hybrid, 3 days onsite

      Hours: 8:30-5:30

      What you’ll do:

      This role will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for preparation of monthly general ledger closings entries and consolidations for operating entities/ locations in accordance with company policies and procedures; including general ledger account analysis, requiring full understanding of flow between P&L and balance sheets. The ideal candidate will bring a working understanding of the monthly close and account reconciliation process to align with US GAAP standards.

      Responsibilities/Duties:

      • Prepare monthly general ledger closings and consolidations for operating entities/ locations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
      • General ledger monthly tasks completion: AP activity review, accruals, payroll posting, bank activity posting and reconciliations, and respective reconciliations (debt, revenue, etc)
      • Maintain general ledger account analysis and recording of journal entries/account mapping
      • Coordinate capital spending process/reporting and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger.
      • Coordinate / apply inventory recognition process
      • Coordinate and participate in internal/external financial reviews and audits.
      • Prepare/assist with other management/financial reporting, as necessary.
      • Assist with the integration of business development and growth activities onto Spire’s financial platforms.
      • Document and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, FP&A, and external auditors, to ensure seamless reporting processes.
      • File monthly sales and use tax returns; research new sales tax compliance.

      Who you are:

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
      • CPA designation or progress toward certification (a plus but not required).
      • 2 – 4 years experience in accounting and month end close (required).
      • Background with a Big Four accounting firm (a plus but not required).
      • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
      • Proficiency in accounting software and tools; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus.
