      Scope of Position

      EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience.       This role’s annual salary is $104,000.

      The Senior Accountant position has the responsibility of ensuring all day-to-day accounting, including tasks specific for any regulated assets, are properly researched, documented, and recorded in accordance with applicable guidelines. Specifically, the supporting authoritative US GAAP and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) guidance is adhered to as well as applicable governmental requirements for regulated assets. This person will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our reporting processes, including such financial related items specific to adhering to the accounting guidelines of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

      Responsibilities

      • Perform and oversee the full cycle accounting close procedures ensuring the monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks are completed timely and accurately. Full cycle close will encompass ensuring necessary accounting entries for each authoritative guidance is adhered to, including specific guidance as it relates to a regulated asset.
      • Perform and oversee the completion of the supporting schedules and related analysis of workpapers managed in Prosystems, ensuring relevant account reconciliations and job cost reports, if applicable, are completed timely and accurately.
      • Perform detailed review and needed research relative to required deliverables, to ensure accuracy within specified materiality limits. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring they are in accordance with the appliable reporting guidance.
      • Perform and oversee the quarterly IFRS reporting packages and if applicable, the annual US GAAP audit for assigned project entities. Specific to FERC deliverables, ensuring compliance with current regulations and timelines.
      • Serve as a workflow and technical mentor to accountants, providing support, as appropriate.
      • Interface with other departments and business personnel regularly to ensure the reflection of our business transactions in the ledgers in an efficient and accurate manner.
      • Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or his/her designee.

      Qualifications

      Education/Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is highly preferred. Significant experience working in a senior accounting role, with a strong focus on FERC reporting in the energy industry.
      • A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience working within an accounting department (preferably mid-size to large company) and/or in public accounting;
      • In-depth knowledge of FERC regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements;
      • Experience with SAP and BI/BW preferred;

      Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

      • Extensive experience with an integrated accounting software package along with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
      • Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards and International Accounting Standards.
      • Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills required;
      • Demonstrated to be a highly motivated self-starter with a friendly personality and team player attitude that can become an asset to the organization;
      • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and effectively communicate financial information;
      • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks from start to finish, research, analyze and problem-solve meeting deadlines.

      Physical Requirements:

      • None aside from ability to use general office equipment.
