      Summary:

      This position will report to the Sr. Director of Payroll and Accounts Payable and will be a member of the Corporate Finance Team. You will be responsible for building and mentoring a high performing team, and contributing to processes that will support Yelp's mission of connecting people with great local businesses.

      To be successful in this role, you must understand the intricacies of accounts payable, the general ledger system, develop and enforce scalable accounts payable policies, implement, or improve internal controls, and drive process improvements by constantly seeking best practices. You should have the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams, including FP&A and General Accounting.       What you'll do:

      • Develop and implement policies and procedures designed to optimize the balance between the need for agility and solid financial controls.
      • Lead and develop the Accounts Payable Team through coaching and mentoring.
      • Ensure timely communication with key vendors to resolve pending issues and facilitate a positive working relationship.
      • Audit and approve accounts payable financial transactions adhering to all internal and SOX controls.
      • Manage SOX processes and controls within assigned areas of responsibility; actively identify any gaps and/or new controls required and take action to remediate any deficiencies.
      • Provide oversight and review over Form 1099 reporting, unclaimed property, and other accounts payable related compliance reporting requirements.
      • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information as it relates to accounts payable; ensure accuracy of accounts payable related items in the financial statements.
      • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedure, and policies applicable to the accounts payable function to ensure efficient company operations.
      • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize the accounts payable process to deliver accurate and timely results.


      What it takes to succeed:

      • 8+ years of demonstrated experience managing accounts payable, cash disbursement functions, employee expense reporting, and month-end accruals.
      • 3+ years of people leadership and team development experience.
      • Must have a strong understanding of and experience with SOX, preparing, reviewing, and owning controls and narrative updates in areas of responsibility.
      • Demonstrated experience with change management, including process improvement, systems, and process creation as it relates to Accounts Payable.
      • Highly proficient Microsoft Excel skills and excellent understanding of MS Word, MS PowerPoint required.
      • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, ability to learn quickly, and multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
      • Experience with Oracle ERP a plus.
      • Self-motivated and self-managed - ability to think independently, creatively, and opportunistically.
      • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.

      • Compensation range for this position is $111,000- $188,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.
