It's not about technology. It's about life.
At Volvo Cars, we’re on a mission to make people’s lives less complicated. We never start with technology and try to squeeze people in around it – we always design our cars around people, and we innovate to provide safe, sustainable and convenient mobility. Want to join us?
Our Offer:
In the Circularity and Metals group, we help engineering departments choose the right materials. Your role involves setting targets, conducting laboratory tests, performing component and material testing, and analyzing chemicals.
What You'll Do:
You'll closely collaborate with engineering departments, Manufacturing, and the Megacasting team. Your main tasks include ensuring the timely delivery of test results, addressing deviations, and generating reports. Additionally, you'll conduct system and component testing and conduct failure analyses for quality concerns.
You'll also summarize lessons learned from each project and provide feedback to engineering for future phases. Material identification, characterization, and verification are crucial for ensuring products meet standards. Metal chemical analysis helps determine component alloys and investigate failures.
You and Your Skills:
As a customer-focused engineer, you excel in planning, task management, and meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are key, along with the ability to take initiative when necessary. Given the evolving nature of the Metals team, your role requires the ability to develop the area in collaboration with others.
A university degree in Material Science, preferably with a focus on metals, is required. You should have expertise in material science, database management, and sample preparation for testing and analysis. Practical and theoretical knowledge of vehicles is also important. How to learn more and apply
