- Identifies and leads project’s scoping & justification to coordinate the Internal Capex Process from the idea stage to management approval.
- Identifies requirements & risks and works together with Legal to develop contracts that state the vendor’s accountability to meeting the needs.
- Searches, identifies, and selects vendors and contractors through a bidding process, considering cost, experience, and quality of each participant.
- Works with selected vendors and contractors to develop Project Plans (Gantt Charts) from Design to delivery of the project to internal customer, making sure timing, cost and payments, and quality of the work have clear commitments.
- Drives and develops Design and Construction standards including standard operating procedures, master design specifications, design standards and training for Site Project Managers/Coordinators.
- Makes sure all internal and external rules and regulations are considered and met throughout every project.
- Maintains and reports on Global Capex spreadsheet with status and spend forecast for each Facilities owned project.
- Lead the development of harmonized Global design / construction management SOPs and programs.
- Lead the creation and delivery of training for site facilities staff that manage site design / construction projects.
- Design / Construction projects budget over $200,000 USD. Examples include: complex animal vivarium renovation, new boiler installation, and tunnel washer replacement.
- Construction of new animal vivarium or redesign of an existing animal vivarium that is implementing a new standard design or construction method.
- Installation of new equipment or lines.
- Development of a new site.
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college with focus on Facilities Systems (HVAC, Electrical, Controls), Project Management or Engineering degree, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level.
- 5+ years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Bioscience or Pharmaceutical Industry Design / Construction Management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired.
- Previous supervisor or middle management experience
- Experience in a wide range of principles and methodology of a specialized professional field. Skill in designing, implementing, and coordinating assignments, operations, and/or programs.
- Experience in making decisions or recommendations significantly developing or changing organizational policies or procedures.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.

Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to join our dedicated global Facilities team. This role can be based at the Germantown, NY, Rensselaer, NY, or Cambridge City, IN sites. There is a requirement to work onsite 80-90% of the time, with some flexibility to be remote.
Travel: Frequent travel is required, generally multiple trips each month. Travel expectations will be global.
The Pay Range: $108,000 - $139,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions, with this the upper end of the range is not always likely to be offered.

Taconic’s Facility Operations Team manages global facility, building, equipment, and growth initiatives in the animal model industry. The Senior Capital Project Manager is responsible for the management, supervision, and control of all large design/construction/new equipment projects using best practices to achieve on time, on budget and on quality execution.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Some physical exertion is required such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, and lifting, and/or lifting of items up to 25 pounds. Occasional exposure to minor injury or other occupational hazards requiring precaution. Occasional exposure to extremes in temperature, outdoor weather, strong odors, and/or noise levels may occur within the work environment. Routinely walking around active construction sites to assess and audit progress.
